SoundCellar presents Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra + special guest Eddie Gripper (piano)

Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra (DYJO) is an intermediate to advanced youth jazz orchestra led by renowned local jazz musician Terry Quinney. DYJO is made up of the big band instrument mix including: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drum kit, double bass and voice.
For this performance the ensemble will be joined by rising star jazz pianist Eddie Gripper. Born and raised in Oxford, Eddie first moved to Cardiff in 2018 to study under the tutelage of Huw Warren before graduating with First Class Honours from Cardiff University. Having “already garnered comparisons with the greats” (Jazzwise) after the release of his debut album ‘Home’, Eddie has rapidly established himself as a young contender on the national jazz circuit. He has worked as a performer, promoter and producer alongside top musicians in his field such as Nigel Price, Simon Spillet, Pete Long, Alex Clarke, Yuri Golubev and Iain Ballamy.
